Job Overview
Come work for a locally owned and operated company that cares! We are seeking a dynamic and committed, self-starter to join our team as an Assistant Store Manager. Serious candidates only, please. We fully commit to our team and want the same in return.
The ideal candidate will perform daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maximizing profitability. This is a part time position with a set two days per week - one being Monday and the other day to be determined, however, we need this person to be available to cover additional days occasionally to somewhat regularly, including coverage on Saturdays. We are closed Sundays and major holidays. This job would be a great fit for a person that is looking for variety in their day. We want someone that is happy to help our customers, pays attention to details, and is comfortable on a computer and with various software programs. Multi-tasking and getting outside daily throughout the year to complete security checks, and maintain the site is key to the job. (The training schedule is estimated to be four full days per week for 2-3 weeks, depending on how quickly you pick things up.)
Our part-time team members might work fewer hours than our full-time team members, but they are just as valued! They need to know everything a full time person does and be able to run the store independently. It is crucial we find someone that is happy with part-time set hours and the availability to cover other days.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations
- Rent storage spaces and manage existing customer accounts, including taking payments and renting U-Haul trucks
- Maintain orderly files, follow schedules, and manage vendor visits
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues
- Maintain buildings and grounds of a storage facility (Maintenance is primarily routine cleaning of units, drives and light landscaping.)
*Employees must have a reliable vehicle available to commute to and from work and for errands needed during the work day, such as making bank deposits and going to the post office.
Skills
- Strong sales skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills - the details matter
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Proficiency in using a computer and cell phone, navigating the internet, different applications and software programs, including, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a MUST
- Ability to perform basic math functions correctly
- Experience in the self-storage industry or property management industry, in general, is a plus.

VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE, BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREENING REQUIRED.
MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT UP TO 50 LBS., CLIMB A LADDER, AND SIT, STAND, AND WALK FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.
