Position Summary
Storee Construction is seeking a CAD Project Engineering Manager to lead and manage the CAD department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality AutoCAD-based design solutions. This role involves mentoring junior CAD technicians, overseeing quality control, and collaborating with internal teams and clients to provide accurate fabrication drawings and material lists for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in engineering, a deep understanding of AutoCAD technologies, and a commitment to delivering precision in every project.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor junior CAD technicians in the use of AutoCAD and related technologies (2D, 3D, Revit, Inventor, Advanced Steel, Magnet Collage, Point Manager).
- Ensure adherence to AutoCAD best practices for quality and accuracy in all designs.
- Perform quality control and assurance on CAD-generated drawings and specifications.
- Manage team assignments and ensure timely completion of tasks according to project schedules.
- Collaborate with fabrication teams to resolve design challenges and ensure project success.
- Create and manage material lists for fabrication projects to ensure accurate procurement.
- Develop and manage project solutions from client meetings, ensuring alignment with specifications and requirements.
- Participate in client meetings to understand project needs and contribute to solution development.
- Troubleshoot design challenges and provide subject matter expertise in AutoCAD technologies.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD drafting, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- PE or other engineering license preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, Advanced Steel, and other CAD suite tools.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
