Bus Washer/Utility Worker

Wage: $18.70 401k, & Health benefits

Full Time: 8 Hours per day (8:30 am to 5 pm/30 min mealtime)

Paid Training (minimum wage)

Position Summary:

Bus Washer/Utility Worker duties and responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing of all fleet vehicles, which include both exterior and interior cleaning. Requires the safe operation of fleet vehicles on property and adhering to safety protocols and procedures. Responsible for ensuring all fleet vehicles meet and exceed cleaning inspections and documentation of daily cleaning. Ability to effectively communicate in person and via phone, ensuring all duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and General Manager.

Responsibilities:

· Washes exterior of vehicles using power washer/hose and brushes, includes mirrors, windows, wheels, and rims.

· Sweeps, mops, and removes trash from interiors of vehicles, and steep wells on buses.

· Vacuums, wipes, and sanitizes all seats, and crevices in seat areas.

· Vacuums all tracks on interiors floors.

· Cleans windshield, windows, and mirrors inside and out of buses.

· Wipes all interior surfaces most importantly handrails,

· Cleans drivers’ compartment, this includes wiping dust and debris from seat, dash, gauges, and knobs.

· Remove any dust or debris from air conditioning and heating units and vents.

· Cleans area around wheelchair lift, sanitizes lift, handrails, safety belt, and other areas of lift as needed.

· Safely drives, maneuvers, and parks vehicles on site only.

· Performs light maintenance in shop areas, was bay area and related facility.

· Empties garbage cans in the breakroom, office areas, and restrooms.

· Stocks restrooms and kitchen.

· Stocks cleaning supplies including mop buckets as needed throughout shift.

· Reports any maintenance issues to the maintenance manager.

· Reports any vehicle damage to Safety Officer and General Manager.

Requirements:

· Must possess a valid California driver’s license with a minimum of one year driving experience and a safe driving record.

· Must be able to pass a physical examination and drug screen including random drug screens.

· Good verbal communication skills.

· Ability to read and follow both verbal and written directions.

· Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by Material Safety Data Sheets and all other safety training materials provided.

· Ability to learn shop processes.

· Ability to safely use a variety of cleaning products and properly wear protective equipment as may be necessary.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Ability to work unsupervised.

· Self-motivated.

Physical Demands:

· DOT Medical

· Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of standard equipment.

· Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store items.

· Clarity of vision at varying distances to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment.

· Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner.

· Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

· Ability to bend, twist, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, push, pull and lift objects up to sixty pounds. Requires physical movement and extended periods of body movement throughout shift.

· Ability to work during adverse weather conditions including extremely hot and wintry weather conditions.

Experience:

• 1 year or more of janitorial or auto detailing experience preferred, not required.
