Wage: $20.00- $25.00/Hour starting 401k, & Health benefits
Hours: 8 Hours per day / Mon- Friday and some weekends/ Full Time
(Graveyard shift 9:00 pm to 5:30 am)
Position Summary:
Bus Washer/Utility Worker duties and responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing of all fleet vehicles, which include both exterior and interior cleaning. Requires the safe operation of fleet vehicles and adhering to safety protocols and procedures. Responsible for ensuring all fleet vehicles meet and exceed cleaning inspections and documentation of daily cleaning. Ability to effectively communicate in person and via phone, ensuring all duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality, in a timely manner. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Will work under the direction of the Operations Manager and General Manager.
Responsibilities:
· Washes exterior and interior of vehicles using power washer and brushes; sweep/mop and removes trash from vehicles.
· Clean windshield, windows, and mirrors inside and out of buses.
· Cleans all interior surfaces.
· Cleans drivers’ compartment, this includes wiping dust and debris from seat, dash, gauges, and knobs.
· Drives, maneuvers, and parks vehicles
· Reports any maintenance issues to the Supervisor.
· Report any vehicle damage to Safety Manager or Road Supervisors.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
· Able to obtain Commercial Class B License, air brakes and Passenger Endorsements.
· Must be able to clear preemployment drug screen, DOT Medical and DOJ Background.
· Good verbal communication skills.
· Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions.
· Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by Material Safety Data Sheets and all other safety training materials provided.
· Ability to use a variety of cleaning products.
· Strong attention to details.
· Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
· Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
· Operate a two-way radio.
· Ability to maintain accurate and complete records of bus washing logs.
· Ability to disconnect the CNG pump from the Gilligs.
· Ability to perform a thorough inspection of each fleet vehicle.
· Understand vehicle operating procedures including how to properly turn off buses.
Work Environment:
· The usual customary methods of performing the job functions require the following physical demands: significant carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, reaching, some climbing and balancing, some lifting, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
· Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of standard cleaning supplies.
· Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to clean/wash.
· Clarity of vision at varying distances to be able to monitor incoming traffic at the corporation yard.
· Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner.
· Lifting of objects.
· Standing for extended periods of time.
