EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This is the supervisory level position in the Lifeguard series. The Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and direction of lower level lifeguard staff and is able to perform the full range of essential functions of the job.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The duties listed below are examples of the work typically performed by an employee in this position. Performance of these functions is the reason the job exists. An employee may not be assigned all duties listed and may be assigned duties which are not listed below.Identifies the need for, oversees, and equips all special aquatic events.Promotes assigned programs to ensure maximum participation using acceptable advertising and marketing techniques.Implements, monitors, staffs, and supervises assigned programs to ensure the success of the programs and the safety and enjoyment of those participating.Supervises lower-level lifeguard staff, including scheduling, performance management, and, if necessary, discipline.Performs lifeguard duties.Participates in the pool risk management and safety program by regular inspection and maintenance of activity site and scheduled emergency drills.Monitors and supervises the swimming pool, pool area, locker rooms and hallways.Enforces rules and regulations pertaining to pool operation and safety and supervises pool areas when in use; fosters accident prevention.Administers First-Aid and/or CPR as needed; performs water rescue functions.Maintains standards of facility sanitation, assisting with cleaning and general maintenance of the facility.Attends meetings and training sessions as required.Responds to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provides information within the area of assignment; resolves complaints in an efficient and timely manner.Maintains proper physical fitness, mental alertness, and readiness to meet emergencies.Performs related duties as required.
