Job Summary:
The Warehouse Worker is responsible for receiving and processing inbound and outbound freight/furniture as well as storing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. The position loads and unloads shipments, as well as verifies that shipments are correct and contents are undamaged.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processes inbound freight; unloads incoming trucks, verifies quantities received and checks for damage; reports damaged or missing products; reconciles product count against packing list; signs off on paperwork when received freight is fully reconciled.
- Stages and organizes incoming inventory by purchase order and stocks/stores in the proper locations throughout the warehouse. Maintains / monitors inventory in warehouse.
- Pulls tickets for delivery and installations; unboxes and pulls correct product for job; assembles/disassembles or repairs furniture components as needed, following specified instructions.
- Updates system entering information from receiving documentation.
- Operates equipment including forklifts to move inventory around warehouse.
- Assists with loading trucks, installing or delivering products as needed.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping bays and warehouse neat and organized.
- Tracks assigned equipment.
- Assists in maintaining and cleaning showroom floors with new or used furniture.
- Assists with receiving incoming courier deliveries of supply orders, verifying quantities against purchase orders and storing in the appropriate location.
Educational / Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or GED with some related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; warehouse experience preferred; a valid driver’s license and a good driving record; Forklift Operator’s license. Strong attention to detail is required, along with excellent organizational skills and pride in keeping a clean work area.
