We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician (Apprentice) to join the team. This role will be responsible for learning the skills of machinery installation, maintenance and repair through on-the-job training and if applicable, classroom training is a plus. NOTE: This is not a janitorial / facility maintenance position but more technical in nature in repairing industrial machinery.
This role will be assisting and performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on industrial equipment alongside the qualified maintenance technicians on the team. Duties include fixing manufacturing machinery, plumbing, heating, welding, and wiring. Adhering to safety standards, working to schedule repairs with minimized disruption to production includes unforeseen brake down support.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures production lines and equipment are maintained and able to run at all times.
- Desire for learning, improvement in all maintenance responsibilities, duties, and tasks.
- Assists with prioritizing work orders with maintenance supervision, production supervision, managers, and Leads.
- Will support workplace organization programs (6S) and tooling preventive maintenance programs (TPM) and continuous improvement.
- Ability to troubleshoot Electrical, Electronic, Motor Controller Drives, Mechanical, Hydraulic, welding and Pneumatic Systems.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner even under stressful and pressured situations.
- The ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.
- The initiative to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
- Ability to sit or stand as needed for long periods of time. The employee may reach above shoulder heights or below the waist or lift as required to work on equipment throughout the workday.
- Always abide by company policies and safety standards.
- Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management or other techs on the team.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Associates’ degree / Certification in a manufacturing Industrial Maintenance discipline, or related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and at least 1-2 years’ experience in an Industrial Maintenance role.
- Strong background in manufacturing systems to support a dynamic fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Motivated to perform tasks to the best of their ability using his or her own initiative.
- Enrollment in Facility Maintenance Certification course, a plus
- Stick, wire, spot welding experience with structural welding certification preferred.
- Emphasis on Industrial maintenance with prior experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
