The Manufacturing Manager provides leadership and technical support for site operations, focusing on process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for managing daily manufacturing activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving initiatives that enhance quality, productivity, safety, and environmental compliance.
Some of the Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Manager include:
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, training, transportation, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including SAP transactions, audits, safety protocols, maintenance needs, capital projects, process improvements, and production procedures.
- Optimize resources to meet or exceed productivity targets while minimizing downtime.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, and analyzing methods to drive cost reductions and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing performance, including process rate, yield, and quality enhancements using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Encourage continuous improvement and innovation among operations personnel.
- Support employee development through training, coaching, performance feedback, and skill enhancement.
- Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded through product consistency and prompt issue resolution.
- Establish safety and environmental performance targets, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal EH&S regulations.
- Lead plant-wide initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and strategic planning efforts.
- Develop de-bottlenecking plans to enhance product quality and capacity, supporting business growth.
- Develop and manage department budgets and performance metrics while identifying cost-saving opportunities in production and supply chain operations.
- Represent the plant on business teams and participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Support and maintain ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system compliance.
Some of the Qualifications/Requirements of the Manufacturing Manager include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred).
- 5-8 years of experience in operations and/or engineering within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with SAP and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
