We are always on the lookout for key members of the Storm Smart production team, such as Material Handlers, Assemblers, and Metal Shop Technicians.
As a key member of the Storm Smart production team, the Material Handlers, Assemblers, and Metal Shop Technicians play a critical role in the manufacturing process of hurricane protection products. These positions require attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handler
Receive, sort, and organize raw materials and components.
Load and unload materials for production use.
Maintain accurate inventory records.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Ensure safe storage and transport of materials throughout the facility.
Assembler
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and instructions.
Assemble aluminum and metal components using hand and power tools.
Perform quality checks and inspections on completed assemblies.
Follow production schedules to meet daily output goals.
Ensure all assembled products meet Storm Smart quality standards.
Metal Shop Technician
Operate metal fabrication machines such as shears, brakes, and punch presses.
Cut, shape, and prepare aluminum or other metals for assembly.
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation.
Follow shop safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for shop efficiency.

Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Provide time management skills.
- Must have verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Basic tool experience Chop saw, Drill press ext.
- Basic knowledge of fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read measure sheets and accurately cut metal, aluminum, shutters.
- Ability to work weekends and overtime if needed.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- Two years of shutter/hurricane industry or similar.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift certification not needed but is a plus.
