The Quality Control (QC) Manager will be tasked with implementing a robust Quality Management System across the supply chain, production, and installation functions. This will include the documentation of all quality control processes to ensure that products meet agreed upon standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This role will need to collaborate with other functional teams and lead through influence to establish a culture of quality.
This position will require you to travel outside the country approximately 10-15% of the time.
Performance Metrics:
- Reduction in defects and non-conformance rates.
- Improvement in customer satisfaction and reduction in complaints.
- Efficiency gains in quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Quality Control System Management:
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality control systems and procedures.
- Create and maintain quality standards, inspections, and audit documentation.
Team Leadership:
- Act as part of the Operations Leadership team in conjunction with Contract Operations, Supply Chain, Production, and Field Installation.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review performance and discuss quality concerns or improvements.
Inspection and Testing:
- Oversee testing and inspection of inbound raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods.
- Analyze quality control test results and recommend process improvements.
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions:
- Investigate product or process failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues.
- Establish quality metrics with supply base to ensure compliance with product standards.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Continuous Improvement:
- Implement strategies to improve quality, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in quality management.
Customer and Supplier Communication:
- Address customer complaints and implement solutions to improve satisfaction.
- Work with suppliers to ensure that incoming materials meet quality standards.

Required Skills/ Abilities:
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of quality control tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, CAPA).
- Proficiency in quality management software and data analysis tools.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing methodologies in driving efficiency.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree in quality management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Manager) are preferred.
Experience:
- 5 years in quality control or assurance, with 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in manufacturing or supply chain industries is a plus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, move, lift, and carry material weighing up to 50 pounds; some positions may involve moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 75 pounds; stand up to eight hours each day; work in all weather conditions; be exposed to high noise levels; and wear hand, eye, and hearing protection.
