The Shutter Installer Helper at Storm Smart assists in the installation of hurricane and storm protection systems, including shutters, panels, and other products. This role supports the lead installer by preparing materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring efficient and safe installation processes. The Shutter Installer Helper is responsible for adhering to safety guidelines, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high-quality standards in all work performed.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assist the lead installer with the installation of shutters, storm panels, and related products.

  • Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment at job sites.

  • Measure, cut, and prepare materials for installation as directed.

  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Ensure job sites are clean and free of debris before and after installations.

  • Follow company protocols and safety standards to ensure a secure work environment.

  • Communicate with customers professionally, addressing questions and concerns as needed.

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment to ensure functionality.

  • Complete tasks efficiently within the assigned timeframes.

Required Skills/ Abilities:

  • Minimum two (2) years experience in a carpentry, construction, or detailed carpentry role.

  • Residential hurricane shutter experience helpful.

  • Motivated, initiative-taker, sense of urgency, personable, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.

  • Effective communication and customer service skills.

  • The ability to read and interpret field drawings and blueprints.

  • The ability to read a measuring tape.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.

  • Previous hurricane protection service tech experience, preferred.

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
