We are a premier development, investment, and operating company focused on the North American power and energy infrastructure sector, with leading platforms across generation, transmission and energy transition solutions.
We are seeking a Software Developer that will support the maintenance and development of an existing software platform used by the energy trading team that will support and inform trading decisions.
The ideal candidate will have exposure to commonly traded financial products, including Swaps, Futures, and PPAs. Familiarity with exotic and structured products (such as Heat Rate Call Options), and the Commodity Futures market, with a focus on North American Power and Natural gas
Main Responsibilities:
- Work with the trading team to identify needs and build system solutions.
- Develop and maintain on-prem and cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS) using Python, R, Git, Conda, Docker, Excel, and PowerBI on Windows and Linux.
- Support business analysis, product design, data engineering, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Document processes and infrastructure; hold regular meetings to showcase system updates.
- Integrate third-party data into in-house analytics to support trading decisions.
You will have:
- 2-4 years of experience programming
- A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related fields
- The ability to maintain data pipeline and front-end query services built on R/Shiny
- Familiarity with running services on Linux / in the cloud that are securely accessible from within a corporate network
- The ability to maintain an internal Git repository and support user python environments
- worked with databricks/snowflake-like data warehousing SaaS systems
