Stormwater Inspector

Stormwater Management, LLC (SML) is a stable, local business located in Montgomery County, seeking enthusiastic entry level or experienced inspectors.Our established staff continues to grow and expand with the need for inspectors to assess and document the condition of existing stormwater facilities. The position will involve field work including visual inspection, documentation, and office work on reporting the condition of existing stormwater management and drainage systems. Based in Burtonsville, Maryland, field work will be throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. This position has long-term career growth and unlimited potential.

While not required, ideal candidates will have had exposure to or experience in one of the following:

• Reading of site plans and related drawings
• Drainage and/or stormwater management design
• Construction implementation and/or estimating
• Construction inspection or geotechnical testing
• Post-construction stormwater and BMP inspection
• CCTV pipeline inspection

This is an entry level position that is a long-term career opportunity. Increased responsibilities and accelerated career paths are available for those with experience in this role.

Minimum requirements for the position are:

• A relatively clean driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier.
• Good communication skills (friendly, outgoing, courteous, etc)
• Capability to work in both office and field environments.
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to read site plans.
• Detail oriented

We know how difficult it can be to get started in a career. This entry level position can be the perfect way to get a jumpstart in the right direction. On-job training will be provided to accomplish the specific tasks. This position does NOT require a college degree as long as you like to work both outside doing physical activities (75% of the time) and are comfortable behind a computer in an office for 25% of the time.

Position requires good communication skills (friendly, outgoing, courteous, etc), and the capability to work in both office and field environments. You will be mentored and coached. Basic computer skills required. Must not have a fear of heights or confined spaces, be able to lift 75 pounds, and be able to learn to read site plans. An active driver’s license and a relatively clean driving record that is acceptable to our insurer is required.
