What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Furniture Installer position at Storr Office Environments?
Summary: The Lead Installer will work with the Operations Manager in planning and setting up jobs and assigning personnel. You will also direct all aspects of the operation. Must have strong supervisory and training skills. Must take initiative and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interact with customer contacts on furniture deliveries before, during, and after installs. Clear communication with the customer and administrative staff.
- Review installs after completion and report any discrepancies in job orders to the Operations Manager.
- Maintain all paperwork about the job. You are responsible for the completion of all lines on the job order.
- Review labor cost versus budget.
- Create a punch list and develop a punch order with OMS team.
- Problem-solving site and installation challenges.
- Responsible for complete customer satisfaction.
- Maintain vehicles, equipment, and supplies.
- Foster a professional attitude, cooperation, and team effort.
- Maintain a safe, secure work environment at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- On-the-job training of any new personnel and assessment of their progress.
- NCDL with a good driving record
- Software experience includes Microsoft Office products, online input, and information tracking.
- Business furniture installation experience is a must.
- Prior Steelcase installation experience preferred.
Education and/or Experience:
- All the requirements of the Installer position.
- Skilled in the proper assembly of:
- Electrical components
- Steelcase systems
- File leveling and ganging
- Wall mounting: panels, binder bins, and wall boards
- Thorough knowledge of blueprint drawings.
- Complete understanding of the installation process.
- Ability to supervise and successfully install up to a 100-workstation project.
- Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Decision-making and supervisory skills.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Accountable for making sure the Installers are properly trained while out in the field.
- Ensure that Installers properly fill out their paperwork.
- Responsible for the quality of the work on the project.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the furniture or related industry.
- No formal discipline procedures taken in the last ninety (90) days.
- Trained and certified in First Aid.
