Our Human Resources and Finance teams seek a detail-oriented Payroll & Compliance Specialist to play a key role in managing payroll and ensuring compliance across multiple organizations. In addition, this position will be assisting with basic day-to-day accounting needs to include both internal and external reporting requirements. As our Payroll & Compliance Specialist, you'll oversee payroll processes using state-of-the-art software (Paychex), support employees with 401(k) benefits, and ensure our practices align with the latest regulations. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to accounting operations, and help us innovate for continuous improvement.
What You'll Do:
- Payroll & Compliance: Ensure payroll accuracy while keeping us compliant with tax laws and company policies.
- 401(k) Administration: Manage enrollments, audits, and compliance for our employee retirement plans.
- Audit & Reporting: Facilitate payroll audits, prepare tax filings, and provide insights for decision-making.
- State & Federal Compliance: Stay on top of legislative updates and multi-state payroll complexities.
- Safety & Workers' Compensation: Partner with HR to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Process Improvement: Help streamline payroll and accounting workflows.
- Accounting Support: Assist with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and other financial tasks.
What We're Looking For:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 years of payroll experience, including multi-state and 401(k) plan management.
- Proficiency in payroll software (Paychex strongly preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and discretion with sensitive information.
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and tax laws.

Preferred but Not Required:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
