What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Technician position at Storr Office Environments?
The Shop Technician is primarily responsible for panel and chair refurbishment. Additionally, the Shop Technician will be required to make service calls to follow up on installation punch, warranty work, and general furniture service as requested by the client. Good oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational and customer relations skills are required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate paint spray booth applying paint to metal storage items. (full PPE is provided and required)
- Proper processing of paperwork.
- Refurbish panels and seating products.
- Good communications with customers and employees.
- Assist with other shop tasks.
- Adhere to company dress code and safety procedures.
- Maintain a complete set of tools at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by Shop Supervisor.
General Responsibilities
• Make sure the shop areas are kept clean, safe and well organized.
• Review shop work orders for complete information.
• Maintain professional and courteous attitude at all times.
• Make sure the service areas and vehicles are kept clean, safe, well organized and maintained.
• Insure parts taken from the warehouse are billed as customer, warranty, or another department.
• Review service orders for complete information.
• Maintain company procedures, policies, dress code, and safety procedures with crew at all times.
• Other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor or QA Supervisor.
• Assist other departments as requested.
Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Completion of a leadership skills class with the ability to work with and lead others.
• No formal discipline procedures taken in the last ninety (90) days.
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
