Position Summary:
We are looking for Construction Workers to join our Small Projects Group focusing on commercial remodeling work. Construction Workers participate in various remodel projects using an array of equipment, tools, and processes while helping promote a safe and productive jobsite. The Small Projects Group Construction Worker reports to the Superintendent.

Summary of Duties:
- Prepare construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform commercial remodel work included, but not limited to, general carpentry and finishes, hanging sheetrock, and occasionally working with concrete.
- Proficiently operates a variety of hand and power tools, forklifts, skid loaders, and other tools and equipment as directed.
- Load and unload supplies and equipment, ensuring that tools and equipment are cleaned and maintained.
- Site cleanup duties.
- Conduct job site safety walk-throughs.
- Follows all health and safety regulations when performing work and as otherwise instructed.
- Ensure that equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly, and assist with inventory management.
- Actively participate in work planning and the continuous improvement process.
- Follow all company work and safety policies and procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Working Hours: Generally, expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, from 7:00AM – 4:00PM. Occasional overtime may be required.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record to qualify for Story's approved drivers list.
- Means of getting to and from work.
- General carpentry and finishes experience.
- Minimum Tool Requirement: 16oz or larger hammer, crescent adjustable wrench, screwdriver (6-1 type), tape measure, speed square, retractable utility knife, chalk box, lineman or rebar pliers.
Travel: Some out-of-area travel may be expected; job sites are located throughout central Iowa and occasionally across the state. Overnight travel is rare.

Working Conditions:
Employees may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards. Job duties are often performed in close proximity to other people. Employees often work in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue. Must possess adequate communicative, auditory, and visual capabilities to avoid safety hazards.
