As a Patient Care Technician, you will:
- Know cardinal signs and symptoms, recognizes and reports to the nurse assigned to the patient, any abnormalities noted, and problems voiced by patients.
- Perform routine bedside patient care within hospital policies and procedures, under the supervision of a nurse.
- Assist patients, families, and visitors with various needs to enhance customer service.
- Visually assess patient safety needs.
- Perform simple and complex procedures, i.e., activities of daily living, specimen collection, glucometer checks, EKGs, discontinue foley catheters, and other procedures/techniques as approved by the Director of Nursing.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
- Transport patients in wheelchairs or stretcher.
- Stock patient rooms with supplies.
- Report problems or concerns to the Charge Nurse/designee on a timely basis.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, resident, and personnel information.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- High school education or equivalent.
- Completion of approved Advanced Certified Nursing Assistant program in the State of Iowa and active on Iowa CNA Registry or licensed as an EMT in the State of Iowa.
- Dependent Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter within 30 days of start date
- BLS certification within 30 days of start date
- Must be proficient in multitasking and time management.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Experience as a PCT in an acute/hospital setting.
