What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Manager position at Stotz Equipment?
The successful candidate will manage service operations to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, achieve model profitability, grow service labor sales, control expenses and attract and retain outstanding talent while maintaining the company's core values: Quality, Integrity, Loyalty, Caring, and Community and share the vision "To Be the Best Equipment Dealer in the World". Candidates must have experience working with various financial reports and budgeting for a department and with managing staff. Previous work experience in a dealership is preferred, but not required.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain effective department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction as well as outstanding procedure audits
- Communicates enforce and monitor service department processes to ensure customer satisfaction
- Create annual service department goals and budget in alignment with the set financial and operational objectives
- Develop and execute the service department marketing plan and monitor monthly to ensure the achievement of departmental goals
- Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the service department according to their skills and knowledge
- Demonstrate leadership in sharing best practices and implementing common processes throughout the Service Department
- Coordinate customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events.
- Provide leadership in the area of interdepartmental communications
- Recruit, hire, develop and retain key talent by maintaining a current internal depth chart, recruiting and hiring plans, and individual development plans
- Assists with the development and training of service personnel and completes performance reviews of service staff
- Contribute to bonus pool goal
- Maximize department performance through goals and objectives, coordination and delegation of duties
- Effectively manage assets including maintaining department vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment in excellent condition
- Keep work in progress within company standards
What it Takes
- 4 years of experience working in a service department, demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics
- Clean driving record
- Strong computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the company
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Skills in managing risk, change, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Experience leading and working cooperatively in a team environment
- Familiarity with creating a budget and working with spreadsheets
