Stotz Equipment is looking for a Shop Tech I/Apprentice. This individual will be responsible for the effective diagnosis and repair of engine components including small engines and some agricultural equipment. Their work must be completed safely, professionally, and in a timely manner. What You'll Do
Learn, practice, and assist with performing complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment. Work must be completed at high levels of quality and safety. Daily duties will include some customer contact, diagnosing, troubleshooting using diagnostic tools, and making repairs. Work assignments will be completed in the shop. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
Qualifications
What It Takes
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record
- Must own and maintain their tools
- Will be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Exhibit professional behavior
- Basic computer skills required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, good documentation skill, and good organization skill
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to assemble, perform basic maintenance and diagnostic procedures, and demonstrate knowledge of the equipment
Compensation will be based on proven experience.
Preferred
- Accepted or enrolled in a diesel mechanic school or received certification from a diesel mechanic trade school or program
- A minimum of 1- year of experience as a student or entry-level mechanic working on small engines, diesel, and gas engines, and small hand-held components
- Experience with John Deere equipment
Education
- High school diploma or GED
