Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for an Athletic Trainer-Physician Extender to join our Multi-Specialty Clinic team on a Full-Time basis in our Orthopedic Clinic.
This is an experienced athletic training position with responsibilities in the Orthopedic Clinic. The Athletic trainer would communicate with the physician and medical team to help determine the need for special tests or services.
This position requires that the candidate possess the clinical evaluation, and educational skills expected of an Athletic Trainer.
The candidate will provide athletic training services for Stoughton Health and the Orthopedic Clinics under the direction of a designated physician.
This position may require travel between our Specialty Clinic sites in Madison, WI and Stoughton, WI.
Essential Functions :
- Provide appropriate evaluations
- Obtain the medical history of each patient seen
- Physical examination of each patient seen (Range of motion, strength, sensation testing, etc.)
- Ordering diagnostic studies or other referrals under the direction of the physician
- Educating the patient on treatment plans, surgery, rehabilitation, and follow-up care
- Providing initial rehabilitation exercises
- Orthotic fittings
- Wound care
- Injection Preparations
- Document / Scribe all medical interactions with patients
