Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Coding and Reimbursement Coordinator to join our team on a Full-Time basis in our Health Information Department.
The Coding and Reimbursement Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supporting the work of coding specialists in the Health Information Department. Among other duties, this position is responsible for coordinating coding specialists’ work assignments and monitoring coding work queues on a regular basis. This position serves as a day-to-day resource for coding specialists. This position will also perform the duties of a coding specialist regularly.
Position Requirements:
- Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Preferred Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information
- Professional Experience: 2 years hospital inpatient and outpatient coding, experience in professional fee coding also desired
- Certification Requirements: RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
- Special Requirements:
- Two years of relevant experience in a related capacity in a healthcare setting.
- Leadership skills, such as the ability to delegate responsibilities and maintain a high level of organization
- Ability to communicate effectively to convey information and resolve concerns
- Ability to work effectively with telecommuting staff
- Knowledge of coding systems, such as ICS-10, CPT, HCPCs
- Knowledge of DRG’s and APCs
- Ability to collaborate with finance and compliance managers
- Computer Competency: Basic Competency skills are expected for this position.
- Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Basic Skills – Able to perform basic formatting, create Word and Excel files, prepare applicable charts for reports.
Work Shift:
- Full-Time, 1.0 FTE
- 40 hours per week
- Scheduled Days: Monday - Friday
- Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- No Weekends or Holidays
