What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile Processing Technician position at Stoughton Health?
Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Sterile Processing Technician to join our Operating Room team on a PRN basis.
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, maintaining, and preparing instruments and equipment for all departments in the hospital.
Position Requirements:
- Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Preferred: Post-secondary coursework in Sterile Processing skills
- Preferred Professional Experience: Prefer prior experience as a hospital Sterile Processing Technician.
- Licensure: Sterile Processing Certification is required within one year of hire.
- Preferred Certification: Sterile Processing Certification upon hire.
- Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements.
- Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.
Work Shift:
- PRN (as needed)
- Required to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month
- Scheduled Days: Variable (as needed)
- Scheduled Shift: 4 – 10 hour days, Monday - Friday
- Occasional On Call every 5th Weekend
- One holiday per year. On a rotation basis. Call back is within 60 minutes.
