What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner position at Stoughton?
Our Planner will coordinate and manage the planning of material availability for the specific site location assigned, ensuring that materials are coordinated in support of manufacturing. This role will work closely with supply chain and plant leadership, inclusive of operations, engineering, quality, and material control in a respective setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the supply and demand of materials through the supply chain to ensure on time delivery of customer orders
- Analyze on-hand inventory against material requirements to determine potential shortages in the near and short term
- Identify, communicate, and escalate critical part shortages to purchasing and manufacturing
- Create and maintain job orders with accurate due dates based on input from MRP action messages.
- Expedite critical part shortages for both purchased and manufactured parts and follow up to ensure production receives the parts before their requirement date on the production line
- Work in cross functional teams to resolve critical issues within the organization
- Investigate and correct demand discrepancies within the MRP system
- Work with engineering for alternate material substitutions and sourcing for alternate suppliers, while communicating issues with Manufacturing.
- Maintain all planning parameters in the item master for assigned manufactured parts
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management and/or (2-3) years of experience in the manufacturing / planning or in a related areas
- Licenses/Certifications: CPM, CPSM, CSM, or Equivalent Preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experiences in a variety of procurement and planning concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Project management skills that are cross functional.
- Solid communication skills external and internal to the organization
- Experience with global sourcing a plus.
- Willingness to travel, up to 5%.
