What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientific Project Manager position at Stowers Institute for Medical Research?
The Stowers Institute for Medical Research is seeking a project manager to support our increasing needs for CryoEM analysis and structural modeling. This senior-level position, as a member of the Stowers Institute Technology Centers, will support world-class biological research, enabling our understanding of the diverse mechanisms of life and their impact on human health. The successful candidate will work closely with the Electron Microscopy Center and collaborate closely with research labs and other technology centers.
A successful candidate will be highly motivated with strong experience in CryoEM data collection, processing, model building, and validation. Knowledge in computational approaches for conformation determination using single particle reconstruction is key to this role. Preference will be given to those with project leadership experience.
Minimum Qualifications :
The successful candidate will have a PhD degree, and preferably post-doctoral experience, in structural biology, cell biology, biochemistry or biophysics, and have demonstrated expertise in cryo-EM data analysis. Strong communication skills are essential, as the candidate will work with different teams across Stowers. Additionally, the candidate must be effective in time management and be committed to achieving preset goals.
