What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Treasury Analyst position at Stowers Institute for Medical Research?
The Stowers Institute for Medical Research has an opening for a Senior Treasury Analyst. This position facilitates daily treasury operations, provides accurate cash reporting and assists with service-provider management related to banking, investment, debt and risk management. This position works cross functionally with the Finance and Accounting teams to effectively accomplish objectives.
Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor and analyze the organization’s cash position to cover cash commitments and optimize short-term investments.
- The primary point of contact for all treasury related items including debt, cash and investment portfolio management as well as long-range capital planning and risk management.
- Lead the treasury month-end close to facilitate the timely closing of accounting activities for treasury related items.
- Review and approve ACH and wire payments.
- Develop and prepare accurate and timely reporting materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- The candidate will have primary responsibility for maintaining current knowledge of treasury standards and fraud prevention best practices, recommending changes when appropriate.
- Complete quarterly debt compliance reporting.
- Develop and prepare treasury dashboards.
- Provide information in connection with the annual external audit.
- Develop, monitor and analyze bank fees including credit card and cash management expenses.
- Identify opportunities and implement treasury-related business process improvements.
- Develop and support treasury policies, procedures and processes.
- Assists in maintaining and updating internal controls over treasury practices.
- Various ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5 years of corporate Treasury experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, advanced degree preferred.
- Ability to quickly understand complex transactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in working with internal and external business partners.
- Significant knowledge of corporate treasury including banking industry and bank products.
- A self-starter willing to commit the required effort to accomplish objectives and identify opportunities, an out-of-box innovative thinker, willing to make suggestions for change.
- Ability to interact professionally with members of senior management.
- Effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction and priority.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Willingness to identify and implement best practices.
