What are the responsibilities and job description for the NX CAD Designer/Engineer position at StraCon Services Group, LLC?
StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking an experienced NX CAD Designer/Engineer to support the implementation of Siemens Teamcenter services projects in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Government Cloud Environment (GCE) for our Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) customer. The position is located in Lexington Park, MD. Remote work is authorized.
Essential Job Duties:
- Transform customer requirements into successful implementation projects
- Coordinate with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), various government acquisition groups, and remote technical teams to accomplish project goals
- Refine and grow the capabilities of current systems, driving continuous improvement to meet engineering and logistic Active Workspace integration and interface needs
- Design, develop, and sustain the current Teamcenter environment and related application systems
Required Experience:
- 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of Drafting
- Experience with Computer-aided design and drafting
- Experience with Teamcenter, NX, or other PLM software, preferably NX within a Teamcenter integration and proficiency in NX computer-aided design and drafting
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices
- Ability to create detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD software
- Proficient understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in drafting and design
- Experience with PDM system, preferably Teamcenter
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Time management and organization skills to meet project deadlines
- Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desired Experience:
- Experience in Amazon Web Services Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of Navy Intranet and DoD IT infrastructure
- Ideal applicant should be mechanically inclined and be familiar with sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing environments
- Having electrical fundamentals knowledge is also preferred
- Use communication and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical personnel in both oral and written formats as needed to complete project objectives
- Can use problem solving skills to address issues encountered on projects and work with personnel to get the necessary information through the correct points of contact
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects at one time in a deadline driven environment
- Someone who shows initiative and ownership in their work along with being self-motivated to carry out tasks with minimal guidance
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional Travel may be required depending on location
Education Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in a technical related field
- May substitute the degree requirement with an Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the essential description OR Four (4) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a BA/BS degree
Security Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
