StraCon Services Group, LLC is seeking a full time Senior Executive Writer in Dahlgren VA. The Executive Writer will serve as the primary speechwriter and content strategist for the Director of Corporate Communications at NSWC Dahlgren Division. This role requires a highly skilled communicator who can craft clear, compelling, and strategic messaging across a variety of formats, including speeches, talking points, executive correspondence, reports, and internal/external communications. The Executive Writer will work closely with senior leadership to ensure all written materials align with NSWCDD’s mission, vision, and priorities, supporting engagement with employees, external stakeholders, legislators, and others as directed.

- Speechwriting & Talking Points: Develop speeches, remarks, and talking points for the Director of Corporate Communications, Technical Director, and other senior leaders for events, engagements, and appearances.
- Executive Correspondence: Draft letters, reports, statements, and official communications on behalf of the Director.
- Strategic Messaging: Create clear, persuasive, and impactful messaging that aligns with NSWCDD’s corporate communication strategy.
- Internal & External Communications: Support content development for executive-level newsletters, internal briefings, and external articles or publications.
- Editing & Proofreading: Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of all executive-level written materials.
- Research & Content Development: Conduct research on relevant defense, technology, and policy topics to inform high-level messaging.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with Public Affairs, Protocol, Legislative Affairs, and other teams to align messaging and content strategies.
Travel Requirements:
- Domestic Travel may be required.
Experience Requirements:
- 10 years of experience in executive writing, speechwriting, public affairs, or strategic communications.
- Proven ability to write for senior executives and high-profile audiences, with a strong understanding of defense, government, or STEM-related topics preferred.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, engaging narratives.
- Experience developing speeches, talking points, and official correspondence in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to capture voice and tone of senior leaders while maintaining clarity and strategic intent.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense, Navy, and warfare center operations** is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and **manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines**.

Education Requirements:
- Masters degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Political Science, Public Affairs, or a related field.
- Allowable Substitution: Bachelors Degree and an additional 3 years’ experience.
Security Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
