Position Overview
The Accounting Administrator will work closely with the Executive Director and other leadership to provide administrative, financial, and contract management support. This role includes budgeting, contract administration, grant management, and office operations.
The position requires leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain business standards, policies, and procedures for administrative and financial operations.
- Coordinate and monitor budgets, including forecasting, expense analysis, and fund allocation.
- Supervise and train accounting and administrative staff; conduct performance evaluations.
- Administer and monitor contracts, negotiate terms, approve payments, and ensure compliance with fiscal and legal obligations.
- Oversee the DMC contract for the Gerry House program and residential property contracts.
- Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with HOPWA and other program requirements.
- Manage corporate information, including EIN, tax-exempt status, business licenses, and permits.
- Serve as a liaison for contract negotiations and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation for management and external partners.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s degree in public or business administration, government accounting, or a related field.
Experience:
- Two years of administrative & nonprofit experience in budgeting, accounting, or fiscal control, including one year in a supervisory role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in budget planning, financial forecasting, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, governmental standards, and reporting procedures.
- Skilled in contract management, negotiation, and compliance.
- Proficiency in modern office tools and software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural and ethnic groups.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
