JOB DESCRIPTION — Packaging Line Operator
We’re looking for a self-motivated, team focused, individual who can assist us in growing our packaging efficiencies. This position will operate the packaging line, assist in the day-to-day operations of our production facility, and proactively work to create efficiencies in the packaging process. We are growing rapidly as a company and seek an ambitious individual to help drive us into our fast approaching future.

Position Requirements:
- Experience operating packaging lines required
- Proven organization and data entry skills, with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing work environment.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Physical requirements: Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, stand for the duration of a shift, lift 55 pounds, and maneuver 300 pounds repeatedly.
- Proper handling of hazardous materials and operation of complex machinery.
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
Here’s how your role helps bring all of that to life. (jeez… no pressure!)
- Use good manufacturing practices to prep and package world class cocktails and components.
- Leverage experience to evaluate current packaging processes and advise changes to benefit product quality and efficiency.
- Be a servant leader and obstacle remover for fellow team members — anticipating needs by constantly evaluating the environment and team for cues.
- Assist the management team in executing packaging operations during scheduled shifts.
- Provide timely feedback to the Lead Packaging Operator on packaging needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
- Follow safety protocols and proactively work to mitigate potential safety risks.
- Operate forklift according to established safety standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance as required for packaging equipment.
- Perform, record and report QC records in accordance with TTB requirements and internal standards
- Proactively use our task management application for tracking raw material needs.
- Assist Lead Packaging Operator in monthly inventories of raw materials, both on and offsite
- Keep up to date job knowledge and operational trends by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
- Uphold Straightaway’s Purchasing policy and support sustainable purchasing goals
- Support sustainability data collection, ensuring it’s accuracy
- Support sustainability goal setting, considering B Corp Certification criteria
- Implementing the protocols set for improvements to the production space: cardboard recycling, plastic film recycling, etc.; Implement recycling and trash protocols; day to day protocols/responsibilities and also higher level big picture changes.
- Carry out EMS tracking duties
