Job Summary
The goal of the Room Inspector is to assist with maintaining the cleanliness and the appearance of guest accommodations and public space. The Room Inspector’s duties will include inspecting these areas to ensure they meet Brand standards of cleanliness. The Room Inspector will also perform the role of Room Attendant when scheduled or when necessary due to business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Room Inspector's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspect guest rooms to ensures the guest room is ready before the guest room is opened to a guest. Prioritize rooms based on guest need.
- Document and communicate outstanding items needed to be done or corrected to supervisor and/or Room Attendants in a positive and constructive way.
- Communicate with guest services regarding room availability.
- Maintain key control and lost-and-found procedures.
- Assist with training staff.
- Assist with scheduling employees and room assignments with minimum disruption to guests.
- Demonstrate a commitment to guest service by responding promptly to guest requests in a personable positive and professional manner.
- Maintains a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management.
- Assist Room Attendants with ensuring they have enough cleaning products and linen supplies.
- Ensure appropriate procedures are followed as it relates to guest privacy and entering rooms.
- Notify management of any damage or strong odors in rooms.
- Immediately notify supervisor of suspicious activity.
- Assist with removing soiled linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets from each assigned room and provides fresh replacements, if needed.
- Assist with making beds, and stocking towels, washcloths, and hand towels according to policies, if needed.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect bathroom and kitchenette or coffee- preparation areas according to hotel polices.
- Disinfect all surfaces, to include all high-touch items; wall and lamp switches, thermostat, door handles, telephone, TV remote(s), etc.
- Clean mirrors, glass and dust pictures and other objects in room.
- Vacuum floors and remove trash.
- Assist with checking complimentary coffee, snacks and toiletry supplies in the room, and restocking according to provided hotel checklist and policy.
- Ensure found items are brought to lost and found if guest has checked out.
- Ensure rollaways or cribs in rooms are picked up and put in storage.
- Assist with ensuring that soiled linens are provided to laundry timely.
- Notify maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs based on hotel processes.
- Completes duties and daily checklist as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred. Other languages in addition to English is a plus.
- Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs.
- Ability to be flexible and work weekends, holidays and be scheduled any days of the week. Weekends are required.
