Who you are:
The Assistant General Manager of Strange Delight is responsible for driving operational excellence and ensuring a superior guest experience through excellent hospitality and service, while also supporting the administrative function of the business. The AGM must possess demonstrated leadership skills, a friendly yet competitive spirit, and a passion for hospitality beverage, and building and maintaining high performing teams.
What you'll do:
- Support the GM in driving excellence in all aspects of the business, both guest-facing and internal
- Lead all team members in delivering consistent, memorable moments of hospitality and service for our guests in 5 services a week
- Evolve and grow our beverage program (beer, wine, cocktails)
- Monitor inventory, loss, and spill-waste to maximize financial and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with management and ownership team to keep a continuous pulse on all guest feedback channels, seeking opportunities to improve the guest experience and strengthen a devoted base of regulars
- Consistently offer positive and constructive feedback to drive a high-performing team dedicated to hospitality, excellence, and achievement of business goals
- Foster a close partnership with the kitchen management team, ensuring alignment on business goals and initiatives
- Provide coaching and guidance to all team members, ensuring that pathways for growth and development are attainable for all
- Balance day-to-day operational and administrative responsibilities with excellence, using sound judgment to make decisions that are best for both the short term and long-term health of the business
- Build an infrastructure and foundation for operational excellence through clarity of roles, goals, and resources, ensuring that all systems and processes are efficient and accessible
Administrative Responsibilities
- Ensure all invoices are properly reviewed and submitted for payment in a timely manner
- Maintain and circulate SOPs, checklists, and policies for running a smooth service
- Ensure a stock of plateware, glassware, flatware, disposables and smallwares are maintained without over-ordering
- Create a holistic strategy to ensure the a successful and robust beverage program
- Support the GM on an as needed basis with additional administrative tasks, including but not limited to: FOH schedule, payroll, inventory, ordering, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training etc.
Required qualifications
- 2 years of leadership experience in a similar establishment
- Demonstrated beverage experience, including but not limited to menu development, staff training, vendor management
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with payroll platforms, Restaurant Inventory software, and Toast POS, including but not limited to: menu management and configuration, basic troubleshooting and support, inventory management and costing.
- TIPS certification
- DOH Certification
- English fluency and Spanish knowledge
