Job Title: English Language Learner (ELL) & District Assessment Coordinator

Job Goal: Coordinate the design and delivery of ELL curriculum, instruction, and assessment while overseeing the district-wide assessment system to ensure compliance and data-driven decision-making.

- Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assignment.
- Plan, coordinate, design, and conduct activities related to assessment, research, and evaluation.
- Serve as a trainer and technical resource in, assessment administration and related software systems for processing and reporting results.
- Accurately analyze and interpret assessment, research, and evaluation results and provide clear and concise narrative and graphic explanations of data and trends.
- Maintain current knowledge of trends and advances in the field.
- Knowledge of the general organization and functions of a public school system as well as methodology used in educational research design and statistical analysis.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ELL Program Coordination & Instructional Support
- Evaluate ELL programs in collaboration with staff, administration, and tutors.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans for ELL students.
- Screen and assess ELL students to identify language learning needs.
- Train and support teachers in effective ELL instructional strategies.
- Monitor ELL program exit students and track their progress.
- Ensure access to grade-level content through scaffolding and targeted instruction.
- Manage assessments and progress monitoring for ELL students.
- Collaborate with specialists to address students’ additional learning needs.
District-Wide Assessment Oversight
- Direct and supervise the district-wide assessment system.
- Coordinate state and district testing, ensuring compliance and security.
- Support principals and staff with training, administration, and data interpretation.
- Analyze and report assessment data for instructional improvement.
- Provide staff training on assessments, evaluation, and data use.
- Present assessment findings to stakeholders, including the Board of Education.
- Stay updated on best practices in assessment and evaluation.
Qualifications / Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Bonding, and or Testing Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching or administrative license with ESL/ELL endorsement.
- Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and instructional leadership.
- Strong knowledge of language acquisition, assessment practices, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Physical Demands: Between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and 10 pounds on a frequent basis, occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching and fine motor activity, frequently sitting, standing, walking, balancing, reaching at desk and floor level, firm and simple grasping. The work requires constant seeing, hearing, and talking.
Work Environment: Work is performed in office, classroom and/or other educational setting.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Days / Terms of Employment: 178 Days Reporting Schedule. Salary to be determined by the School Board of Education.
