What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Quality Inspector position at Strata Clean Energy?
As a Construction Quality Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of construction projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for developing and executing project quality plans, personnel development, training, identifying, and solving issues, as well as reporting on Civil Quality matters and program metrics.
The ideal candidate will have experience in overseeing quality assurance activities of Construction Materials Testing (CMT) -QA/QC engineering firms, coordinating with Strata Engineering and CMT firms to determine testing needs for projects, initiating tests, analyzing results, and finding solutions to technical problems.
You will interact with Strata Self-Perform Teams and Subcontractors regarding Civil Construction Quality plans, executions, and corrective actions. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor quality control procedures
- Oversseeing Civil Quality Leads, Technicians, and Temp labor across multiple projects
- Ensuring Civil Quality Leads develop Inspection test points (ITPs) for their assigned projects
- Ensuring Civil Quality Leads review ITPs with their project-assigned Subcontractors and all Civil Superintendents prior to project start
- Maintaining and updating developed ITPs throughout the duration of the project
In addition, you will oversee Civil quality inspections and documentation across all projects within FieldView, communicate with Quality Leads and Superintendents to ensure quality inspections are completed within the required timeframe, verify Quality Leads are monitoring Civil Self Perform (CSP) & Subcontractors correctly on builds after approved First Article Inspections (FAI), and communicate Quality-related issues immediately to the Senior Quality Manager.
You will also complete weekly walk-downs of project builds with Quality Leads, assist Quality Leads in training CSP QC or Subcontractor QC individuals on ITPs and inspection requirements, maintain accurate Daily Quality Report Heat Maps of project quality progress, and be responsible for maintaining, gathering, requesting QC Documentation, and ensuring project documentation is up-to-date.
