What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lineman - NC position at Strata Clean Energy?
Essential Duties
- Constructs, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs overhead distribution equipment.
- Performs installation, inspection, repair, and testing of medium voltage power cables.
- Conducts transformer internal/external inspection and repairs
- Utilizes aerial lift/bucket truck as a qualified operator.
- Schedules and conducts biannual and annual substation inspections.
- Troubleshoots and repairs substation equipment.
- Performs switching and grounding of medium and high voltage equipment.
- Develops and approves written switching orders.
- Operates specialized test equipment including, but not limited to megohmmeters, AC/DC voltmeters, micro-ohmmeters.
- Conducts acceptance and diagnostic testing, substation commissioning testing, and preventative maintenance in accordance with published testing procedures.
- Verifies repairs using established commissioning and start-up procedures.
- Makes electrical measurements, mechanical adjustments, disassembles and assembles equipment correctly.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3 years of commensurate electric distribution work experience required
- Electrical theory education and/or related experience is required
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical/Electronic Technology preferred
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT (Department of Transportation) drug screen and physical
- Class A CDL preferred
