SUMMARY: Under general supervision and direction provides counsel to new and existing members in regards to the various credit union services and investment opportunities. Opens new memberships and cross-sells additional products and services to new and existing members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent the credit union to the members in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
- Perform routine transactions, including but not limited to issuing temporary checks, debit cards, processing deposits, withdrawals, stop payments, loan payments, wire transfers, posting collection payments and check cashing. Process death claims.
- Achieve sales goals as assigned by management.
- Provide in person and by telephone, general and specific information concerning credit union products, services and policies.
- Monitor for and identify Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) transactions and obtain required items of information to complete filing of Currency Transaction Report (CTR). Watch for structuring of account transactions and alert supervisor to any activity that might require completion of Suspicious Activity Report (SAR).
- Complete mandatory BSA compliance training annually.
- Respond to members' requests, problems, and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance. Research and resolve member account discrepancies involving deposits, withdrawals and loan payments and assist members in balancing their accounts.
- Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Set up new account files and provide members with all necessary information for membership. Conduct orientation interview and cross-promote credit union services and programs with each new member. Accept loan applications when appropriate.
- Handle requests from members for transfer of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, account closures, ordering checks, and any other request received from members. Mail receipts and checks to members as indicated by policy and procedure.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of credit union history and philosophies, as well as policies and procedures of the credit union.
- Conduct orientation interview and cross-promote credit union services and programs with each new credit union member. Answer basic member questions regarding loan eligibility and lending criteria. Process loan and credit card applications received in office and by mail. Under limited supervision, assist members with the loan application process. May complete loan applications over the phone.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process changes and assist members with the proper completion of payroll deduction and direct deposit cards. Set up payroll distributions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Requires detailed knowledge of all deposit products and related services offered by the credit union. A general knowledge of all other credit union products is also required. An understanding of credit union policies and procedures and the ability to effectively work with staff and members is necessary. English/Spanish Bilingual Proficiency is preferred for this role.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires high school education or G.E.D. equivalency certificate. In addition to education, preferred one to two years experience in member services and/or financial services area of a credit union, or financial institution.
