Overview
The Production Planner/ Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining an integrated master schedule for the shop manufacturing floor operations, as well as providing status to the Program Managers and Senior Management. Additionally, they will be expected to develop production control metrics, briefing status charts and reports, and perform other routine material handler duties from receipt to shipment. They will also perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and maintain an integrated master schedule for Strata-G Manufacturing Operations
- Identifies material, equipment, and labor constraints that can impact scheduled customer delivery dates
- Releases material requisitions to purchasing
- Create Bills of Material, work order routings, and release work orders.
- Creates and maintains material status reports that effectively communicate the status of the work to the Program Manager, Strata-G Senior Management, and the customers
- Tracks all production programs through the steps of the manufacturing process to successful completion
- Support the Weekly Production Meeting with status updates and analysis of problem areas
Minimum Skills and Competencies
- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems within a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of raw materials, hardware, finishing procedures, and manufacturing processes to produce components and assemblies for the Department of Defense or Aerospace marketplace
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, customer service oriented with extensive attention to detail
- Self-starter of multi-tasking, has effective problem identification and solving skills
- Must be capable of reading and understanding drawings, Bill of Materials, and work instructions
- Excellent computer skills, involving the ability to use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and specifically Microsoft Project. Working knowledge of Costpoint is a plus.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required
- Minimum of three to four years of relevant production planning/scheduling related experience
- Hands-on experience developing, documenting, and reporting manufacturing operations
Qualifications
- Must be eligible for and able to maintain a Secret Clearance.
