As a Process Engineer in the banking sector, you will be responsible for creating and standardizing processes across various departments where little or no documentation currently exists. In this role, you will establish baseline processes, gather input from different stakeholders, and ensure consistency across the bank's operations. Your primary goal will be to unify disparate workflows, reduce process variation, and Client the foundation for future process optimization and automation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process Discovery and Documentation
- Conduct thorough process discovery across departments and cross-functional review to understand current workflows and document them where none exist
- Engage with stakeholders across different areas of the bank to capture insights, identify differences, and resolve discrepancies in how processes are performed
- Develop comprehensive process maps and documentation to serve as a single source of truth for the bank.
- Standardization and Best Practices
- Create standardized processes that meet the needs of various departments while aligning with best practices and regulatory requirements
- Facilitate workshops and discussions with cross-functional teams to build consensus on standardized processes and obtain buy-in from all relevant areas
- Establish guidelines and frameworks for each process, ensuring that standards are consistently applied across the organization.
- Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze the newly documented and standardized processes to identify areas for improvement, streamlining, and potential automation
- Identify where elimination of steps and/or simple non-tech or very low tech process/form efficiencies can be implemented quickly (phase 1 improvements).
- Work with teams to implement phase 1 efficiency improvements once processes are documented and standardized
- Set up monitoring systems to regularly evaluate process effectiveness and identify further opportunities for optimization.
- Work with IT workflow team and business to develop estimates and benefits case to propose budget for workflow/automation requiring technology.
- If approved, work with the team to implement improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Change Management
- Lead the change management effort required to transition departments from varied, informal processes to standardized workflows
- Provide training and support to ensure all employees understand the new processes and are equipped to follow them.
- Communicate regularly with key stakeholders to manage expectations and address any concerns regarding process standardization.
- Risk and Compliance Alignment
- Ensure that standardized processes meet regulatory and risk management requirements specific to the banking sector.
- Work with compliance and risk teams to embed necessary controls into newly defined processes.
- Development of Process Governance:
- Create and establish a governance framework to manage ongoing process documentation, version control, and updates.
- Develop a process audit system to ensure adherence to standardized processes over time.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in process engineering or improvement, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Strong background in process mapping, process documentation, and standardization.
- Knowledge of change management principles and experience working with diverse teams to unify and standardize workflows.
- Familiarity with process mapping and documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) and basic knowledge of regulatory requirements in banking.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or another process improvement methodology.
- Experience developing process governance and documentation practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
