Lab Assistant
Come join our team at StrataDx! We are a CAP accredited pathology laboratory with locations in Winchester and Lexington. We pride ourselves on creating an environment where there is high staff morale and where quality service delivery sets the standard. We are currently seeking a full-time Laboratory Assistant to join our lab in Lexington. The available shifts are Monday through Friday:
- 2:00am - 10:30am
- 3:00am - 11:30am
- 2:00pm - 10:30pm
Roles & Responsibilities:
- File, track, and coordinate internal transport of slides and blocks.
- Update Equipment Log Books and database.
- Maintains precise documentation in accordance with laboratory policies.
- Take supply inventories and stocks supplies.
- Prepare reagents for tissue processing and routine slide staining.
- Perform routine H&E staining and coverslipping either manually or automated.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Perform whole slide scanning for digital pathology.
- Responsible for all assigned clerical duties associated with the Histology laboratory.
- With appropriate education and training, may assist technical staff with limited histology functions.
- Ensure all company safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
- Other duties, as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in a chemistry, biology and/or medical technology. Bachelors Degree, preferred
- Strong communication and organization skills. Attention to details is a must. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must possess a strong work ethic and able to work as part of a team. Medical terminology is desired.
- 1-2 years work experience in a laboratory setting, preferred.
