Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in various legal matters, particularly in Workers Compensation and Personal Injury cases.
- Assist in the management of client files and maintain organized records of all legal proceedings and communications.
- Provide legal advice to clients regarding their rights and obligations under the law, particularly in the areas of Estate Planning and Securities Law.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases, contributing insights and recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings as required to represent the firm effectively.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar association is required.
- Previous experience in a law office setting is preferred but not mandatory; internships will be considered.
- Strong skills in legal research and writing are essential for success in this role.
- Familiarity with Workers Compensation Law, Personal Injury Law, Securities Law, and Estate Planning is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients' interests.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
