Our Texas office is expanding, and we are looking for a Repair & Calibration Technician to join our team and help strengthen our technical service capabilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently in a small but growing operation, managing workflow efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Role Description:
The Repair & Calibration Technician will focus on repairing and calibrating electronic test and measurement equipment, with an emphasis on troubleshooting and component-level repairs. This role requires someone who is not only technically skilled but also capable of managing their own workload and maintaining an organized repair process.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Diagnose and repair electronic test and measurement equipment at the component level.
- Independently manage repair workflow, ensuring efficiency and prioritization of tasks.
- Perform calibrations in compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
- Generate accurate calibration and repair documentation, including certificates and reports.
- Develop calibration procedures for new equipment in collaboration with the team.
- Manage calibration tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality.
- Support customers and internal sales teams with technical inquiries.
- Assist in evaluating new service contracts and provide technical recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards for both in-house and on-site activities.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic repair.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working at the component level.
- Experience working independently in a repair environment, managing workflow and priorities.
- Familiarity with industry-standard test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and signal generators.
- Experience working in an ISO 17025-accredited environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of metrology and calibration processes.
- Proficiency in calibration software like Fluke Met/Cal or similar tools is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
