JOB TITLE : Technical Specialist III
LOCATION : Washington DC (Pentagon)

REPORTS TO : SABG Program Manager
FLSA STATUS : Regular Full-Time Exempt
SUMMARY : SABG is seeking a Technical Specialist III to support Headquarters United States Space Force, Chief Operations Officer (HQ USSF / COO). COO is subject to the direction and control of the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) and directs the United States Space Force National Capital Region staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Support development of exercise and wargame-related strategy and doctrine. Assist in developing policy, guidance, and orders to USSF Field Commands.
- Support formulation, coordination, and communication of USSF positions on joint matters, Joint Staff actions, and best military advice. Assist in preparing senior USSF staff for participation in Joint Staff led forums.
- Provide strategic-level expertise in Space Force Exercises. Advise senior leadership in planning, developing, and coordinating exercise activities and events. Generate recommendations for new exercise related programs, policies, doctrine, strategies, studies, and approaches.
- Interpret national level guidance and ensure incorporation into USSF efforts, inform USSF Best Military Advice by providing warfighting analysis, novel concepts, and expert decision support. Inform force development by contributing to training, wargaming, and exercise efforts.
- Assist with the formulation of goals, plans, and policies for the USSF Exercise Program.
- Monitor and oversee execution of approved exercise SIF operating budget to track and verify obligations and expenditures to ensure transactions occur in a timely manner. Ensures SIF funds are properly managed to include execution activities, including projections, spending plans, and justifications.
- Build strategic communications, product development, crafting senior leader messaging, i.e. congressional reports and senior leader prep materials for formal and informal legislative engagements and summaries of specific interest items.
- Support ongoing development and changes to Space Staff’s, decision-making, stakeholder analyses, decision / risk management, exercise planning, and other tasks to support the division.
- Identify training requirements, obtain, prepare manuals or develop training programs and conduct training for branch members.
- Interface and perform budget and funding liaison support with the Joint Staff J7 and USSF field commands, coordinate actions within the applicable division, other divisions, HQ Space Staff and all other relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee the distribution, obligation and reporting of SIF funds. Ensures appropriate processing in accordance with JTEEP policy, planned, programmed and executed travel funding
SUPERVISION : This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
