FMS Analyst (Intermediate) Job Description

JOB TITLE: FMS Analyst (Intermediate)

LOCATION: Dahlgren, VA

REPORTS TO:SABG Task Lead

FLSA STATUS:Regular Full-Time Exempt

SUMMARY: SABG is hiring a FMS Analyst to support the U.S. Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA). This is on a hybrid work schedule with 2 days per week in office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Capable of providing support in detailed research and analysis in products related to international issues for complex weapon systems. Works as a member of team and assists with solving complex problems.
  • Capable of coordinating political-military, security cooperation, and interagency issues related to strategic policy and security assistance activities, and their compliance with U.S. programs and requirements.
  • Ability to assist in the contribution to negotiate strategies and participates in the development of policy statements to protect and ensure MDS interests.
  • Capable of supporting and delivering executive correspondence, such as decision memos, read-aheads, daily updates, and meeting minutes.
  • Capable of developing programmatic and technical material required for position papers, reports, briefings, testimony, and Congressional inquiries, including aiding in the development of correspondence and overview briefings on political military, security cooperation, and arms control issues and related activities.
  • Capable of supporting, liaising and coordinating with counterparts at both internal and external organizations on political-military, security cooperation, and arms control issues.

SUPERVISION:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Capable of leading and executing tasks associated with international issues for complex weapon systems to support stakeholder requirements. Has specialized relevant knowledge and works as a member of team and assists with solving complex problems. Mid-level working knowledge, skills and abilities using Microsoft Office and Adobe software suites is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education And Experience

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience leading and executing tasks associated with international issues for complex weapon systems.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required in Political Science, International Relations, or related disciplines.
  • Must have FMS experience

Computer Skills

  • Skills in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
