Position Summary : We are seeking a skilled Big Data Search and Exploitation Engineer to join our client's team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the development and maintenance of systems utilizing Elasticsearch and other big data search technologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic Agile environment, collaborating closely with an Agile Development team to transition Java / Springboot applications to a next-generation Python-based solution.
Responsibilities :
- Support the transition of Java / Springboot applications to a Python-based solution interfacing with Elasticsearch.
- Maintain the legacy search environment until its retirement.
- Provide new feature development and ongoing operations and maintenance of the next-generation platform.
- Work within a dynamic Agile environment, supporting integration with multiple applications and representing the development team in Technical Exchange meetings.
- Required Skills and Experience :
- Demonstrated experience developing solutions with Elasticsearch.
- Proficiency in development and support of Java / Springboot applications.
- Strong expertise in Python development.
- Experience supporting multiple inter-related services.
- Familiarity with REST services.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Services and Cloud-based development, including EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, and VPC.
- Experience working in an Agile (Sprint or Kanban) development environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to design technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Proficiency in Systems Analysis to determine system functionality and potential outcomes.
- Ability to identify technology gaps and propose innovative solutions.
