Job Title : Inside Sales Account Manager

Shift : 1st, Full-Time, estimated 40 to 45 hours per week, may require extended hours during peak seasons

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Inside Sales Account Manager to join our growing team. The qualified individual will work in Information Technology sales, generating quotes in response to requests using various government contracts including GSA, OMNIA, NY-OGS, NASPO ValuePoint, Sourcewell, and Texas DIR among others. In addition to quoting, the ideal candidate will have experience with configuring OEM solutions and system builds for our customers. Strong communication skills and a passion for helping clients solve problems are required with experience in / knowledge of public cloud computing preferred.

Principal duties include :

  • Determining the best source to procure products based on price, availability, and customer needs.
  • Comparing vendor quotes to customer requests to ensure accuracy.
  • Preparing product quotes using Strategic's internal quoting system. Responding to all customer RFQs and RFPs as assigned within a timely manner and within designated portals.
  • Utilizing a variety of manufacturer electronic applications to submit deal registration requests and configure system builds for our customers - maximizing obtainment of additional revenue and gross profit for the company.
  • Resolving issues with dated and incomplete Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • May assist with calling new prospective customers and locating interested parties for Strategic's products and services.
  • Proactively researching product features and prices.
  • Working closely with Strategic's management team to develop and maintain target lists of prospects.
  • Participating in Information Technology sales certification and training as directed by management.
  • Developing trusted relationships with manufacturers and distributors who support assigned accounts.
  • Assisting with sales support activities including preparation of bids and proposals.
  • Determining / learning who we have direct relationships with vs. Distribution purchases for cost basis.
  • Ad hoc duties as determined by management to drive sales for Strategic's products and services.

Education and Experience

  • 5 years of business to business sales with prior experience selling technology products / services to end user customers required; Experience with public sector customers and cooperative purchasing contracts desired
  • Experience working with GovSpend, GovWin, Cloud Navigator or similar tools and bid boards desired
  • 2 years of experience selling Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google GCP), backup and disaster recovery, communication, and collaboration, and / or security (endpoint or datacenter) solutions preferred
  • Thorough understanding of IT terminology and ability to translate into non-technical terms
  • Prior experience selling software and working with end user license agreements strongly preferred
  • Proven success building new business relationships, experienced in and comfortable with cold-calling
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Microsoft SharePoint experience preferred
  • CRM or ERP (service / relationship management software) experience required, Tigerpaw and Hubspot experience preferred
  • Diploma required, Bachelor's degree or higher preferred - may be substituted for experience
  • Experience working with multiple departments and managing multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of front-line interaction with customers
  • ISO 9001 : 2015 training to be completed within first 90 days
