What You’ll Do
Evaluate, design, and implement technology solutions to enhance data organization and administration strategies within the Platform space.
- Be the main liaison with software vendor(s) for systems utilized by a particular line of business.
- Stay abreast of upcoming changes and enhancements in vendor’s software and how those changes will impact the business.
- Work with the line of business to design solutions to incorporate software changes and effectively work with business partners to ensure effective implementation.
- Understand the business technology roadmap and make recommendations on continued utilization of current third-party software solutions.
- If working on an agile team work closely with product owner to ensure that user stories have enough specificity and clarity for the software developers to effectively meet customer needs.
- Implement and maintain new features and capabilities while continuously improving the quality of our technical products and services.
- Follow industry and organizational best practices and standards and participate in company communities of practice to continuously refine and communicate them. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Achieve operational excellence by automating processes and creating maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions.
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting for your team’s products and services.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training for new or less experienced team members.
- Linux Skills: Proficiency in Linux operating systems, including command-line interface, shell scripting, and system administration.
- Monitoring: Experience with monitoring tools and techniques to ensure system health and performance.
- Performance Tuning: Expertise in performance tuning of ETL processes and database systems to optimize efficiency and throughput.
- Configuration Tuning: Ability to configure and tune DataStage and related systems to meet business requirements and performance standards.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data management principles.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and business needs, continuously learning and applying new skills.
- DataStage Administration: Oversee the administration of IBM DataStage, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of ETL processes.
- Data Integration: Design and implement data integration solutions to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
- System Configuration: Understand and manage the configuration of DataStage environments, ensuring they meet the needs of the business.
- Vendor Collaboration: Work with IBM and other vendors to stay informed about product updates, patches, and best practices.
