What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Officer, International Outreach position at Strategic Education, Inc.?
This position will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective foreign national students who are located overseas and are considering enrollment at Strayer University.
While very similar to Admissions Officers who support US-based prospective students, this role will have exclusive responsibility for enrolling foreign national students who are located overseas at the time of enrollment (hereinafter “foreign national students located abroad”). This role will require strict compliance with U.S. and foreign laws and regulations, knowledge of applicable degree recognition standards in respective foreign countries, awareness of complexities associated with recruitment of students located abroad, adherence to Strayer enrollment policies and procedures, and high-level multi-cultural communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reliably perform pre-clearance validations to confirm that the prospective student is a foreign national student located abroad.
- Respond to new student inquiries from potential foreign national students located abroad via phone, email and text.
- Interview prospective foreign national students located abroad to determine program qualifications and career goals.
- Educate qualified prospective foreign national students located abroad on the benefits of Strayer University.
- Assist foreign national students located abroad with their due diligence and admissions process partnering with other departments to finalize enrollments and support long-term success for the student.

Work Experience:
- 5 years of professional experience with at least 3 years in an admissions, inside sales, or business development capacity.
- Previous experience in higher education is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working with international customers or clients is strongly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.
Other:
- The office is open Monday-Thursday from 9am-8pm, from 9am-6pm on Friday, and from 9-1 on Saturday.
- This position will coordinate a schedule with the Director of Admissions to complement the team schedule to support success. Other schedule flexibility may be required given the need to support prospective foreign national students located abroad.
- Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations may be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%).
- Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
- If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
- Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
