Position Summary :
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Dean of Academic Programs, the Academic Program / Portfolio Director shall perform the following roles and responsibilities :
- Share academic and administrative responsibility for the development, ongoing evaluation, academic quality, and supervision of the courses, certificates, specializations, and xOpen seminars in an academic portfolio;
- Monitor changing trends relevant to this portfolio, and forms partnerships to implement area of expertise initiatives;
- Manage the many existing industry relationships with relevant companies and professionals with the primary goal of building offerings and revenue growth for the Division;
- Reach underserved communities through statewide and local outreach efforts;
- Serve as a member of various ad-hoc committees and task forces convened at the discretion of the Director and / or the Dean's Office;
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership, excellent managerial and interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm for UCLA Extension's public service educational mission; and
- Represent the institution and the portfolio in a number of regional networks and professional associations related to the education field
