The Process Safety Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation of a chemical facility, with a particular focus on adhering to Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) regulations. Key Responsibilities :
Implement and manage Process Safety Management programs and procedures
Conduct risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and process safety audits
Ensure compliance with process safety regulations and standards
Lead investigations and root cause analysis for process safety incidents
Develop and provide process safety training
Collaborate with teams to enhance safety culture and awareness
Manage process safety documentation and reporting
Drive continuous improvement in process safety measures
Participate in design reviews for process safety integration
Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders on process safety issues
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
3-5 years of experience in process safety or within a facility managing highly hazardous chemicals under PSM
In-depth knowledge of the 14 elements of Process Safety Management and relevant regulatory requirements (OSHA's Process Safety Standard 29 CFR 1910.119)
Strong leadership and project management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
