DO YOU HAVE A BACKGROUND WORKING WITH SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS?
Applicants must have experience working or volunteering with children with disabilities (such as autism, learning disabilities, eloping, and other health impairments) in a learning environment. Experience working or volunteering in a classroom environment is also preferred. Strategic Kids Special Education Aides work alongside After School Programs and assist children with emotional or behavior disorders, intellectual disabilities, communication disorders, eloping, or physical disabilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt plans for diverse learning needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and behavior.
- Help with behavior management strategies to promote student engagement and success.
- Assist with toileting needs
- Assisting with diaper changes
- De-escalating student behaviors
- Support students with behavioral challenges that consist of eloping, hitting, biting, and aggression.

CAN YOU WORK FIVE DAYS PER WEEK?
The Strategic Kids Special Education Aide job is five days weekly, Monday to Friday.
- Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri from 2PM-5:15PM
- Wednesdays from 12:45PM-5:15PM
DO YOU WANT TO WORK IN THE SUMMER?
After finishing the 2024-25 school year in June 2025, there will be opportunities to work summer school, from Student Mentor to Enrichment Instructor (LEGO, Chess, Cartooning, Sports, etc.) positions throughout Orange County.

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 17.5 per week

Experience:
- Special Education: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
